A Humble Gathering

Dorodango (translating literally as “mud dumpling”) is a Japanese art form in which mud and water are moulded into a ball by hand, and then polished until they form a perfect, shiny sphere.
Dorodango-making represents a simple, humble act, in which we offer the lowliest of materials our full attention, patience, and admiration.

First showcased at “All You Have Ever Wanted to Know About Food Design in Six Performances” at Salone del Mobile 2024 in collaboration with Linseed Journal, this ongoing project presents an urgent manifesto for today’s fast-paced world: an invitation to reconnect with the earth, slow down, and embrace the beauty of patience.
