Tom Dixon’s Multiplex was a temporary department store at the old Selfridges Hotel during London Fashion Week, London Design Festival and Frieze, 2015. The store was part immersive installation, part multi-sensory experience, visually inspired by a 1970s adventure playground and a space station. It featured a selection of brands and companies within different store departments: design, fashion, beauty and technology, and a food hall curated by Arabeschi di Latte.
The food court contained a “three-dimensional” pantry: installations of massive blocks of chocolate with charcoal baking powder and totally black bread, offering a parody on the traditional food hall and a conceptual take on the Multiplex theme.
