Pasta Power

Pasta is a complex world where design and craftsmanship, traditions and industries coexist. The Pasta Power design workshop at ECAL explored these different aspects, creating hand-made pasta shapes, pasta experimental moulds and rituals reflecting on the social power of pasta.

To highlight the important relationship between simple ingredients and creative interpretation, working in groups, students were asked to invent their own handmade pasta and share the story and idea behind it. Students created a mould to produce their pasta uniformly and efficiently, with the end resulted presented in a collectively devised concept for a pasta restaurant.
